It was a problem of understanding on my part: the folder structure was not right. The font files must be in the skin main folder. So not in a subfolder of the main folder and the created .ini file + the @Resources/Font folder, that doesn't work!

Correct. The manual says that the @Resources folder (where the Fonts subfolder is to be created in) must be in the root folder of a skin or skin suite:

The @Resources folder must be created at the root config level of the skin (e.g. Skins\illustro\@Resources) and the #@# built-in variable can be used as a shortcut to specify it.

In other words, in your TestBase folder and not in any of its subfolders. This is often difficult to understand since there isn't a clear distinction between a skin suite (which contains multiple individual skins) and an single individual skin in Rainmeter. Many times both are simply called "skins", which makes the distinction a bit confusing.
