SilverAzide, that is a magnificent explanation. Thank you very much. I do find though that, contra(?) 4 but comparable to 5, the following works.

There are some action bangs where Rainmeter will let you get away without the backets, like this one. Ones where you have some sort of command, like [!Something "parameter"] would need them. The docs are here: https://docs.rainmeter.net/manual/skins/option-types/#Action.
